Ron Layne – FounderIn 2006 Ron Layne opened the doors of Positive Mobility, now known as Positive Medical Transport. Recently retired, Ron relocated from Ohio to Florida, bringing his experience in public safety. With him was his wife, a respiratory therapist and his daughter. Ron quickly recognized a need for both non medical and medical transport in the area and with that came the inception of the company. Starting as a non medical paratransit and stretcher company, Positive quickly grew into ambulance transport. Ron had a passion for service and for helping the community. He was a member of organizations such as Rotary and served on committees and boards. He was a community advocate, supporting many causes and investing in many projects. Through his company, he provided employment and education to hundreds of local residents pursuing a career in the medical field. Ron lived by the phrase, ” Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.” His legacy lives on through his children, his company and the many people he inspired in the community.
Robert Layne – PresidentRobert started his career at the inception of Positive Medical Transport in 2006. Moving from Ohio to assist his father in building the company, Robert worked as a driver prior to becoming a Florida Emergency Medical Technician in 2008 then continuing on to become a Paramedic in 2010. His experience led to the advancement into the role of general manager in 2013. In 2017 he assumed the role of President. Robert is tasked with many responsibilities, including leading the staff of Positive Medical Transport in day -to- day operations, mitigating and negotiating contracts, along with many other key components to the companies success . Robert continues to shape the Private EMS Culture that promotes inclusivity, family values, compassion and service. Following the lead of his father who founded Positive, Robert maintains an open door policy for team members and the community alike.
Brandy Layne – General ManagerBrandy has been with Positive from the beginning, starting out as a driver and dispatcher in 2006. She became an EMT and Dispatch Supervisor in 2010. In the same year, Brandy started working with the medical billing and accounts receivables, before receiving her CAC Medical Billing Certificate in 2016. Brandy has experience in most every department at Positive and in 2018 took on the role of Office and Billing Manager. Before being promoted to General Manager in September 2020. She is always ready to handle everyday questions from employees and customers with a smile.
Kim Bagford – Chief Financial OfficerKim Bagford joined the Positive Medical Team in 2008 as the Executive Assistant to the CEO. Originally from Ohio she relocated to Florida to help in the continued growth of Positive Medical. She holds more than 30 years of experience in payroll and business finance, which is essential in her current role as Chief Financial Officer.
James “Junior” Watley – Fleet SupervisorJunior joined Positive Medical Transport in 2017 as a Mechanic, having 12 years experience in Air Conditioning and a history of auto maintenance. He was quickly noticed by upper management and promoted to Fleet Supervisor in 2018. He is responsible for making sure that our vehicles are in safe operating condition.
Meghan Deatherage – Human ResourcesMeghan started with Positive Medical Transport in 2018 as a dispatcher, before taking on the role of Human Resources. She is responsible for overseeing the new hire process, organizing current employee files and seeing that their credentialing is up to date. She is always available to help guide employees with the day to day questions that arise, and eager to assist others with random office duties to keep a smooth running office.
Matt Lizotte – Training Coordinator
Matt was first interested in the medical field when he enrolled in a first responder class in 2015. In the fall of that same year he would enroll in EMT school. After obtaining his EMT license, he started working for Positive Medical Transport. With his drive to further his education, he would start working on his fire standards. In 2017, he would be hired on at Avon Park Fire Department and resigned from Positive Medical Transport. In 2019, Matt would pursue paramedic school, and obtain his license in April 2020. Where he would be return to Positive Medical Transport to work on a truck. With his passion to further his education and pass his knowledge down to others, he was promoted to Training Coordinator in September 2020.
