Positive Medical Transport, formerly Positive Mobility, was founded in 2006 by Ron Layne. The company started as one non-medical transport van. As Positive Mobility became more involved in the community, the outstanding need for a local ambulance provider in Highlands County became apparent. The company put its first ambulance in service just 22 months after inception. The superior care provided by Positive Mobility to patients in the heartland helped to quickly grow the company. Our team continued to provide outstanding BLS service until March of 2009, when PMT officially began offering Advanced Life Support Transport, and changed its name to Positive Medical Transport. Today, PMT proudly serves Central Florida as the ONLY locally owned and operated transport company.
